July 14, 2003
Like I thought, I made a 120 unit Lesser Rhombicosidodecahedron on my train trip to my most recent job interview:-)
I revised my project (originally, I wanted to fold all Platonic and Archimedean Solids from Equilateral Triangle Unit 1-A, see below): now, I'll just make those that come out reasonably stable, meaning mostly those with faces with up to five corners...
I also changed the order of photos in my gallery. Starting today, new models will be added to the top of the gallery, so you won't need to wait for all the old thumbnails to load before seeing what's new. (BTW, if you notice things I can do to improve my website, make it faster to load, easier to navigate or whatever, send me an email! I'll do what I can to improve things around here! On my own, it may take me a looooong time to notice such things, in fact, I may never notice them at all...)
July 8, 2003
Not sure I'm all the way off my modular phase (I have another interview even further away on Thursday, so I've got a feeling there's another 100+ unit Archimedean solid coming up soon;-) Don't know what I'm talking about? Here's the story.), but I received Origami Tanteidan Convention Book 8 a few days ago, so I've been folding a couple of things from it. Here's KINOSHITA Go's Sunfish and KAMIYA Satoshi's Coelophysis.
July 1, 2003
Yeah, you got me, I'm on something of a modular binge;-) I recently made a 150 unit Snub Dodecahedron, and I just added a photo to the gallery. I liked the unit I made it from so much that I've decided to start a project: I want to make all the Platonic and Archimedean solids from the Equilateral Triangle Unit 1-A from Rittai mangekyou (Solid Figure Kaleidoscope). I'm not sure if it'll work for those solids that have faces with more than five corners (on the Snub Dodecahedron, the pentagonal faces were a little flimsy...), but I'm willing to try:-) I've already folded a 60 unit Snub Cube and a 60 unit Icosidodecahedron and added their photos as well.
I also added Rittai mangekyou (Solid Figure Kaleidoscope) to the booklist and updated Rittai o tsukurou (Let's Fold Solid Figures).
June 24, 2003
Added the third version of Wood Sorrel Decorative Ball (Version 2) and another Dodecahedron (simply called Kusudama Dodecahedron) by FUSE Tomoko to the gallery and updated the entry for Rittai o tsukurou (Let's Make Solid Figures).
June 21, 2003
Added two versions of Wood Sorrel Decorative Ball (Version 1, Version 3) by FUSE Tomoko to the gallery and slightly updated the entry for Origami Tanteidan Newsletter #74.
I also noticed that at some point, I put up a photo of three pigs by Stefan Weber in the gallery, but forgot to tell you about it on this page... So, check it out now, the pigs are real cute:-)
